To move the on-screen keyboard, touch it with two fingers and move them in the same direction. To resize the keyboard, touch the on-screen keyboard with two fingers and then move the fingers toward each other pinch or away from each other stretch. Hot Virtual Keyboard fully supports the multi-touch technology available with Windows 7 and later. Owners of touch-sensitive computer devices will be able to type faster, easier, and with greater comfort.

Now you can write entire sentences with a few taps. Because as you type, you'll see choices of words you'd probably type next, based on your past conversations and writing style.

The Text Suggestions are optimized for languages around the world. Which means you'll see suggested words and phrases that are right for your language. The virtual keyboard can be shown on the logon screen before any user logs into the computer system.

This would allow me to open the keyboard on the secondary touch screen when I'm standing in front of it even if I have a physical keyboard attached. It would seem Microsoft believes all big touch screen monitors made in the world must always either be the only monitor connected to the computer or is the primary monitor.

Why can't the task bar work the same on all connected monitors? I don't have the microphone icon to do text-to-speech. Me either! My devices are in Spanish. I've been using it since it was available on the Fast Ring. Sadly, it performs just as horribly as it does on my Lumia And I really wish they'd bring back the handwriting recognition from Windows 8.

The one on Windows 10 is almost useless. Does anyone else have the issue when using the newest builds that you are no longer able to hold down the shift key and then use the arrows to select text. Works fine on RS3, but not on RS4. I see it on 3 different devices. This is on the touch keyboard only. It's been years MS, come on! I'm sure this will make the Windows experience on touch not be as crappy as its current keyboard is, but this is nowhere near as powerful as the likes of SwiftKey which MS owns, come on!!!

Can someone explain to me why exactly would anyone need a mini keyboard on his big screen device and why should we be hyped for this?

One reason? The advantage of the mini keyboard is that it supports swipe. The main touch keyboard does not.. I agree I don't understand why swipe has to be limited to the small keyboard side.

I use swipe all the time om mobile, but it doesn't mean that size has to matter, just because the assumption is that a larger keyboard means, I presume, a longer swipe. I actually would like it on the main keyboard. For me the virtual typing is about the efficiency of swiping as a typing tool, irrespective of the keyboard size. For most tables and touch screens the default touch keyboard is fine. Select the touchpad button on the taskbar.

Install any available updates and restart your PC if required. Type Device Manager. Select Device Manager. Select the arrow next to Human Interface Devices. Select HID-compliant touch screen. Select Action at the top of the window. Select Enable Device. Verify that your touchscreen works. I have a touchscreen monitor and it's the best one for my purposes - also it doesn't immediately spring back onto the screen, I can move it away with just a corner showing and drag it back when I need it - I really can't understand Microsoft's thinking on removing it completely.

The standard keyboard wwas "greyed out" when I installed Windows 8. Now in Windows 10 I cannot find the selling to do this. The full to keyboard has all the Function keys. I do not mean the "on screen keyboard" which can be invoked with an OSK command. I version- but I need those F keys! Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. And it's gone completely in the Fall Creators Update - does anyone know if it's possible to install some exe or dll from the previous build?

I use that keyboard almost exclusively and I'm stuck without it. It's not gone completely -it still comes up for me on the Windows log in screen, just can't get it to appear afterwards.

Very frustrating! I have been able to restore the old one but it's tedious, and a hack at best, hopefully Microsoft will see the error of their ways and put it back in the next update. I looked at TabTip. If the keyboard has been activated since last boot it may have to be killed off in Task Manager. I didn't seem to need to do the registry hack but it may already have been there and it may not be necessary to replace all six files - but hey, it worked!

So I don't have access to the shiny new "emoticon" feature but at least I get a useable keyboard back.
